The 2015 ranking of the American business magazine, Forbes, declares the Russian president Vladimir Putin to be the most powerful person of the world. Putin is leading the rank of the magazine for the third consecutive time.
According to 2015 ranking of the magazine the German chancellor Angela Merkel is the second most powerful and the American president Barack Obama the third most powerful person of the world.
Forbes has stated that it is for the first time that no American political authority is either first or second on the list of the magazine.
Pope Francis has maintained his fourth position on the list while Xi Jiping, who was third on the list the previous year, comes fifth this year. This year Bill Gates is the sixth most powerful and head of the American Federal Reserve Janet Yellen is the seventh most powerful person on the list of the magazine, followed by the British Prime Minister David Cameron, the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and the Google’s co-founder Larry Page.
Thirty of the world’s most powerful persons in the Forbes’s ranking are from American, eight are Chinese, four each from Japan and Russia, three each from India and France, and one from Hong Kong. Nine of the magazine’s most powerful people of the world are women.
