KABUL: Former President of Afghanistan, Hamid Karzai, on Monday met with a number of Pak-Afghan intellectuals, writers and journalists in his office.
The intellectuals who called on Karzai have participated in the two-day joint conference “Cultural Corridor—a path for people solidarity” on finding out ways and means for strengthening of cordial relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan, which concluded here on Sunday.
Ending of extremism and tensions in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces, and the unity among the people living on the two sides of the Durand Line was emphasized.
The ex-president also stressed on importance of increased interactions between people living on both sides of the Durand Line.
The guests during the meeting highlighted importance of cooperation in the education and health sectors.
Karzai expressed happiness on the two-day conference, saying: “We all must make efforts for a universal peace and an honorable life and rescue our region from terrorism and extremism.”
