Karzai condemns Kunduz airstrike

KABUL: Former President, Hamid Karzai “strongly” condemned the recent airstrike on the Dasht-e-Archi district in the northern Kunduz province in which civilians were killed.

“The former president calls air raids that target houses, schools and hospitals under the pretext of fight against terrorism as anti Islamic act and against all humanitarian norms,” Karzai’s office said Monday in a statement.

He called on the conflict sides to pay attention the lives of civilians and respect the Islamic values and sacred places.

Karzai wished paradise for the dead, recovery for the injured and patience for their families and dear ones.
