KABUL: At least 29 people were killed and 52 others injured in a suicide blast in capital Kabul on Wednesday, security officials said.
The blast happened at around 12:00pm in the limits of third Police District near to Kart-i-Sakhi area.
Nasratullah Rahimi, deputy spokesman of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) told Pajhwok Afghan News 29 people have been killed and 52 other wounded. The victims were civilians, he added.
Meanwhile, Police Spokesman Brig. Gen. Mohammad Daud Amin said investigation into the bombing had been launched.
Waheedullah Majroh, spokesman for the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), said 29 people were killed and 52 other wounded in today’s suicide blast.
Faizullah, an eyewitness said the explosive were placed in a motorbike.
He said, “The motorbike rider rammed into the crowd of people who returned from gathering in Kart-i-Sakhi and detonated the explosives.”
He added many people suffered causalities as a result of the blast.
The Taliban distenced themselves from the blast.
