As many as 152 Afghan students will soon leave for India to pursue higher education at the Indian universities, enjoying scholarships provided by New Delhi.
“India provides Afghan government 1,000 scholarships in bachelor degree, where 152 selected students including male and female will leave for India next week,” Indian Ambassador to Kabul Manpreet Vohra said Monday.
He said that the students would study at the Bangalore University for three years.
The students will study business administration, sciences, engineering and English language.
“Scholarship programs in bachelor degree for Afghan students by India has been started 10 years ago and till date, 7,000 Afghan students already completed bachelor degree in different field and return back home to take part in Afghanistan development,” the ambassador added.
He stated that the scholarship would continue to 2020, in which 1,000 students would be selected annually.
Vohra asked the student to use the opportunity and return with success to Afghanistan and be a good servant for people.
It is pertained to mentioned that beside providing scholarship to Afghan students, India has helped Afghanistan in different aspects of economic, social and political affairs in the past years. -AT
