Pashtuns want FATA merged with Khyber-Pashtunkhwa

BANNU: Youth and elders from the tribal areas of North Waziristan Agency and FR Bannu areas want FATA merged with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, so that like all other regions of Pakistan the Pashtuns of FATA could also have equal rights in Pakistan.

The workers of various political parties, students, tribal elders and social activists from North Waziristan and FR Bannu staged a rally in Bannu for the abolishment of the draconian FCR and the merger of FATA with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The participants were shouting slogans that the existing colonial governing system in FATA should be immediately abolished. They were also holding placards and banners bearing the slogans that demanded merger of FATA with the province.

After the rally, the participants talked to the journalists in Bannu Press Club that the oppressive law of FCR should be immediately repealed and FATA merged with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, since the Pashtuns of FATA share blood, language, history, and culture with the Pashtuns of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The participants also announced that they would hold another procession for the constitutional reforms in FATA on November 9.
