Asfandyar to Leave for Kabul Tomorrow; Not Satisfied with NAP Implementation

ABCD2ISLAMABAD: On special invitation of the Afghan government, Central president of Awami National Party (ANP) Asfandyar Wali Khan will visit Afghanistan on Thursday. Addressing a press conference after a meeting with Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif, the ANP leader said that he discussed the Pak-Afghan relations, China-Pakistan economic corridor and FATA issues with the prime minister. He said that he would try his best to reduce tension between the two countries. However, he added, the Afghan government could ask about dead bodies of the militants who were brought to Dir from Afghanistan. He said that the Afghan government could ask about the purpose of the militants’ presence in Afghanistan.  The ANP leader said that he told the prime minister that the western route and industrial zones establishment was very important for the region. He said that like China’s problems in Tibet and Xinjiang, Pakistan was facing similar situation in Balochistan and FATA.  He said that he told the prime minister that they were not satisfied with the pace of repatriation of the IDPs and their rehabilitation. “Whenever we spoke against establishment, we were accused as treason. It remained our political tradition”, he added. He added, “we would not change our stance and politics under any pressure or charges.” The ANP chief was also not satisfied with the implementation of the National Action Plan.  – Khyber News
