ISLAMABAD: Head of Awami National Party Asfandyar Wali Khan has met Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in his house yesterday to show his concerns to Nawaz Sharif over the government ignoring the construction of Western rout of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which will pass through two under-developed smaller western provinces of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the sources Asfandyar Wali has said to Prime Minister that construction of Western route should be given priority, since it was the shortest route and would benefit immensely the poverty and war plagued smaller provinces.
Earlier in a speech to public gathering in Charsadda, Asfandyar Wali had alleged that Prime Minister was ignoring the shortest western route of CPEC while giving priority to the construction of Eastern route, as was obvious from allocation, announcements and inauguration of the eastern route. Asfandyar had further said that until the reservations of the two provinces on the construction of western route are redressed ANP would refuse to attend the government briefings on CPEC.
