PESHAWAR: Awami National Party (ANP) on Wednesday staged protest demonstrations against target killing of its local leader in Swat. Protest demonstrations were also staged in Peshawar, Mardan, Bannu, Charsadda, Lakki Marwat and Islamabad on the call of party leaderships.
A large number of ANP workers, led by ANP Secretary General Mian Iftikhar Hussain, gathered outside Peshawar Press Club. The protesters were holding party flags and blocked the road in front of railway station. They chanted slogans against target killing and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Pervez Khattak.

Mian Iftikhar Hussain while addressing the rally said that party’s 23rd member had been martyred during 3-year government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the province. He said that we won’t tolerate the target killing of our workers and leaders anymore. Mian Iftikhar added that we will protest in each and every city of Pakistan against the target killing of our party workers. He further pointed out that if people can give dharnas for no reason than we have the right to give a dharna in D-Chowk regarding the security and life threats to us and our leaders.

ANP leader Mian Iftikhar Hussain also said that it is not just to accuse anyone over Panama Leaks. Imran Khan and Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif both should be investigated. Later, the protesters dispersed peacefully.
