BANNU: The leaders of Awami National Party, Tehreek-i-Insaf, Pakistan Peoples Party, Jamiat Ulama-i-Islam, Mulim League (N), Jamat-i-Islami, and Qawmi Watan Party addressed the rally, which emerged from Milad Park in Bannu and reached the Bannu Press Club, where it acquired the shape of a protest.
Addressing the protesters, Nisar Ali Khan, Malak Ghulam Khan, Riaz Khan, Hafiz Farhad Ali, Malak Hafiz Gul Bahadar Khan, Malak Akbar Ali Khan, Abdul Khalil and Shafqat Dawar said that the sacrifices that the people of North Waziristan offered are going down the drain. They said that the Provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa owes them. It has been for 17 months that the promise the government had made to give 6000 rupees per month to the IDPS could so far not be fulfilled. Similarly, they said, the foreign aid of 1000 dollars are received by the government for every displaced family, yet only 12000 rupees are given to them by the authorities of Fata Disaster Management, and that too had not been given to the families for the last 3 months.
They further said that the Political administration of North Waziristan has imposed tax of thousands rupees on vehicles leaving for Waziristan, which they said was naked oppression and could not be accepted.
They also said that the rehabilitation process of the IDPs should be made speedily and the government should unblock the mobile Sims of more than 100000 IDPs from North Waziristan.
