Afghanistan inaugurated reconstruction of Dar-ul-Aman Palace

KABUL: The reconstruction of the historic Dar-ul-Aman Palace was officially inaugurated by President mohammad Ashraf Ghani and Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah today.

President Ghani said the reconstruction of the Palace will be done with the available national resources, insisting that the renovation of the Palace is wanted by the whole nation.

The reconstruction of the Palace was inaugurated after President Ghani chaired the first meeting of the High Commission of Urban Developmetn in Dar-ul-Aman Palace.

President Ghani further added that the Supreme Court of the country will be shifted to Dar-ul-Aman Palace once the recostruction work concludes.

He said the government will also start work on the renovation of mosques during the Holy month of Ramadan and urged the people to participate in the urbanization process of the country.

According to President Ghani, the reconstruction of Dar-ul-Aman Palace is not only a major project but the project will also pave the way for the provision of standard urban services in the country.

The Chief Executive Officer Abdullah Abdullah said the Palace is a national pride and its reconstruction will bring the glory of Kabul city.

Abdullah reiterated the commitments of the government of national unity and said the government is committed to take necessary steps for the reconstruction of the country.

The Afghan Parliament House Speaker also welcomed the inauguration of the reconstruction of Dar-ul-Aman Palce, calling it a moment of happiness for the Afghan nation. -KP
