KABUL: UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres on Wednesday arrived in capital Kabul on an unscheduled visit. He is due tomeet national unity government leaders and UN officials in the country.
The UN secretary general is in Kabul for the first time after assuming office to show solidarity with the people of Afghanistan for peace, stability and development, said the UN Assistance Mission for Afghanistan (UNAMA) in a tweet.
During his stay in Kabul, the secretary general would hold separate meetings with President Ashraf Ghani and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abdullah Abdullah.
Guterres would also meet members of civil society organisations in Kabul.
