ISIS deputy military chief ‘Saad Emarati’ killed in East of Afghanistan

Saad-Emarati-killed-in-AfghanistanAFGHANISTAN: The deputy military chief of the loyalists of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group has been killed during an operation in eastern Nangarhar province.

Provincial governor’s spokesman Ataullah Khogyani said Saad Emarati was killed during an operation conducted by special forces of the Afghan National Army.

He said the operation was conducted in Kot district leading to the death of Emarati who was effectively coordinating fight in this district.

According to reports, Emrarati was originally hailing from the central Logar province of Afghanistan and had a major role in ISIS activities in eastern provinces.

Emarati had reportedly coordinated a number of major attacks in eastern Afghanistan and was leading a bloody fight with the Afghan forces in Nangarhar.

This comes as the Afghan commandos launched a major operation in Nangarhar province on Friday, a day after the defense minister Abdullah Habibi visited the province to launch the operations.

The operations are being launched days after President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani ordered the 201st Silab Corps of the Afghan National Army to completely root out the terrorists from Nangarhar.

President Ghani further added that the difficult days in the country have gone but he cautioned that the enemies of
Afghanistan are still plotting destructive activities.

He also visited the residents of Kot district and hailed for their resistance and fight against the loyalists of ISIS terrorist group.

The operations are being launched as ISIS loyalists have been attempting to expand foothold in the country, an attempt that has forced the Afghan and US forces to step up strikes against them. -KP
