Afghanistan to mourn recent attacks on Saturday

Afghan flagKABUL: The national unity government has declared Saturday a day of national mourning following deadly terrorist attacks in Kabul, in which hundreds of people were killed and wounded.

A statement from the presidential palace to Pajhwok Afghan News said the recent terrorist attacks in Kabul, Khost and Herat killed and maimed a number of countrymen.

It said the people of Afghanistan were mourning the deaths of their beloved ones these days, with the government and the people expressing their emotions and donating blood to the injured.

“The national unity government in the memory of the martyred citizens announces Saturday as a day of national mourning.”

It said the day would be marked by reciting verses from the holy Quran and flying the national flag half-mast.
