Afghanistan cricket team faces Scotland at Edinburgh on Monday

Afghanistan-cricket-teamThe Afghanistan national cricket team will face Scotland for the first One Day Intenational (ODI) match at Edinburgh on Monday.

Afghanistan will play two ODI matches with Scotland ahead of appearing for a series of matches against Ireland.

The second ODI match between Afghanistan and Scotland will be played at Edinburgh on Wednesday.

The Afghanistan National Cricket Board (ACB) announced the national team squad for the Scotland and Ireland tours late last month.

The squad includes Asghar Stanikzai, Noor Ali Zadran, Mohammad Shahzad, Shapoor Zadran, Rahmat Shah, Mohammad Nabi, Samiullah Shinwari, Rashid Khan, Yamin Ahmadzai.

Dawlat Zadran, Hamid Hassan, gulbadin Naib, Mirwwais Ashraf, Javed Ahmadi, Najibullah Zadran, Amir Hamza Hotak.

The reserve players include Nasir Jamal, Imrn Janat and Afsar Zazai, according to the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB).

This comes as the Afghanistan national cricket team has not played any major matches since they concluded their World Cup campaign in March.

The Afghan team has only played a 4-day match against Namibia and defeated them by 36 runs and an inning earlier in April. -KP
